Going Down
Doesn't it seem like an awful lot of musicians have met untimely deaths in plane crashes? It doesn't just seem that way. It's true. Maybe it's because they tend to travel from gig to gig in small planes, landing in out-of-the-way airfields. Most people have heard of "the day the music died" — the 1959 crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "the Big Bopper" Richardson. Many other pop musicians have met similar fates, including Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins in 1963; Otis Redding and four members of the Bar-Kays band in 1967; Jim Croce and four others in 1973; Ricky Nelson, his fiancee and five members of his band in 1985; and John Denver in 1997. In 1977, the members of Aerosmith dodged a bullet when, unimpressed with the condition of the plane they were looking to buy, they decided to pass. Lynyrd Skynyrd bought it instead. The plane crashed in the swamps of Louisiana on this date in 1977, killing band members Ronnie VanZant, Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines, and three others.

Quote: "You define a good flight by negatives: you didn't get hijacked, you didn't crash, you didn't throw up, you weren't late, you weren't nauseated by the food. So you are grateful." Paul Theroux

Answers.com is a site developed by google. This is next version of wikipedia. it is being written and improved upon by common people like you and me through out the world.

I have downloaded and installed it in my computers. every time I go on the internet , it pops up a page full of very interesting knowledge.

It is a dictionary as well as an encyclopedia.

I read in it ' how products are made' books like 'war and peace'.

Read history of my home town ' muktsar'. even 'hodal' is there but i feel information on hodal needs more data.

Residents of Hodal can contribute more.

Search any topic of any subject, it will give information. Search authors, actors, books.  yes it has everything.

Same is the case with

youtube

But here you will find only videos on every subject that you can think of.

one night stand

How to handle a one night stand?

If you agreed to go to bed with someone and you haven't known them for more than a few hours, and then when the deed is done, they tell you they were only looking for a one night stand, you might want to be a tad bit more questionable with the next person you decide to have sex with.

One-night stands are all about sex, and the adventure of having sex with someone for the first (and probably only) time. You will almost certainly have a better time with a partner who feels the same way you do about this.

Northern Lights (also known as aurora borealis) and the Fjords

I'm fascinated by the beauty and absolute magic of the Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as the Northern Lights.  The Northern Lights are natural light displays that occur primarily in the polar regions.  I've never witnessed them personally (yet), but have always been completely amazed by the magnificent array of colors these lights display

Northern Lights over the Fjords

You can stay in Yellowknife, choose a wilderness, lodge, or even stay in a teepee.

Columbia Encyclopedia:

aurora borealis

aurora borealis (bôr'ēăl'ĭs) and aurora australis (ôstrā'lĭs), luminous display of various forms and colors seen in the night sky. The aurora borealis of the Northern Hemisphere is often called the northern lights, and the aurora australis of the Southern Hemisphere is known as the southern lights. Each is visible over an area centering around the geomagnetic pole of its own hemisphere. The aurora borealis is said to occur with greatest frequency along a line extending through N Norway, across central Hudson Bay, through Point Barrow, Alaska, and through N Siberia. It is often visible in Canada and the N United States and is seen most frequently at the time of the equinoxes; in times of extreme activity, it may be seen in parts of the S United States. Among the most magnificent of natural phenomena, auroral displays appear in shades of red, yellow, green, blue, and violet and are usually brightest in their most northern latitudes. The aurora is seen in a variety of forms, e.g., as patches of light, in the form of streamers, arcs, banks, rays, or resembling hanging draperies. The aurora occurs between 35 mi and 600 mi (56 km-970 km) above the earth. It is caused by high-speed electrons and protons from the sun, which are trapped in the Van Allen radiation belts high above the earth and then channeled toward the polar regions by the earth's magnetic field. These electrically charged particles enter the atmosphere and collide with air molecules (chiefly oxygen and nitrogen), thus exciting them to luminosity; near the 600-mile level, the light may be given off by electrons and protons combining to form hydrogen atoms. The auroras coincide with periods of greatest sunspot activity and with magnetic storms (disturbances of the ionosphere which interfere with long-distance radio communication). Much was learned about the aurora during the 1957-58 International Geophysical Year, when it was studied intensively by means of balloons, radar, rockets, and satellites. Other planets in the solar system also have auroras.

Fjords

Green and Glorious. Fjords of Norway are stunning
My cruise ship navigated through these Fjords to reach Oslo, Norway

Britannica Concise Encyclopedia:

fjord

Long, narrow arm of the sea, often extending well inland, that results from marine inundation of a glaciated valley. Many fjords are remarkably deep; it is assumed that the huge glaciers that formed in these valleys were so heavy that they eroded the bottoms of the valleys far below sea level. After the glaciers melted, the waters of the sea invaded the valleys.
